Southampton’s ‘Seaside in the Square’ is all set to welcome the tropical taste of Cuba on Thursday 16 August. The ever popular 480 square metre beach in the Guildhall Square, which boasts a full-sized volleyball court, a stage, outdoor cinema and even sand art, can now add a pop-up Revolución de Cuba bar and restaurant to its impressive list.
Revolución de Cuba, a Cuban-style bar and restaurant, is set to open on Above Bar Street in Southampton later next month, and the brand is inviting locals and visitors alike to come down to their Latin-takeover of the beach on 16th August to get a sneak peek of what they can look forward to in September.
James Lavin, Marketing Manager at Revolución de Cuba, commented: “We’re delighted to be bringing an authentic Cuban cocktail bar and restaurant along with a slice of Havana’s heyday to the heart of Southampton. Get ready for live music, entertainment, a cocktail bar and food sampling on the evening.”
Taking you from day to night, the pop-up bar and restaurant will be serving Latin-inspired tapas dishes such as roasted chorizo with red wine and honey sauce and Arroz con Padrón with padrón peppers, spinach and hazelnuts, as well as larger plates such as pork and clams, burritos and burgers.
With a cocktail list driven by premium Cuban rums, Revolución de Cuba’s drinks menu is influenced by long Havana nights. The iconic Reggae Rum Punch (Blackwell and Wray & Nephew rums, Chambord black raspberry liqueur, orange, pineapple, and lime), stars alongside four different daiquiris, including Nuclear (Wray & Nephew and Bacardi Carta Blanca rums, lime and crème de banane) and the twisted classic Reina Colada (Bacardi Cuatro rum, Freixenet prosecco, coconut, vanilla and pineapple).
“We will have freshly prepared feasts straight from the tropics, inspired and innovative cocktails, and enough rum to make every day a celebración. Come and join us down at the beach for a special preview of how we fiesta in Cuba!”
