The accolade, voted for by port customers, recognised the trade enabling port operator’s UK business units, London Gateway and Southampton, which have enjoyed another year of high productivity and growth.
Linton Nightingale, Deputy Editor of Lloyds List Containers joined comedian Romesh Ranganathan to present the award to DP World’s UK Chief Operating Officer, Nick Loader.
Mr Loader commented “This has been a real team effort, and recognises the incredible work undertaken by the UK team at London Gateway and Southampton. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptionally high-quality service provision to our customers and striving to exceed their expectations when it comes to ensuring trade can flow with minimal delay through our UK business units.”
He continued, "There have been some great examples this year of the UK team finding solutions to challenges and innovating to improve supply chain visibility- which in turn increases efficiency and productivity. I'm proud of everyone working across the two terminals, now it's time to build on this success."
Nick Marsh, Publisher of Lloyd's Loading List who runs the ward, commented: "We've seen exceptional quality across the board this year with technology playing an increasingly important part in the success of the companies that won. The other standout development is the increased internationalist of thee award, with over half of all entries from non-European domiciled businesses: the Global Freight Awards are truly global."
The Port Operator Award was a Reader’s Vote Award that could only be voted for by freight forwarders, cargo owners and shipping lines.
