Starling Bank formally opened its second office last night at their new base at Beresford House, Southampton.
The event was hosted by Founder and CEO, Anne Boden, together with Dame Wendy Hall DBE, Regius Professor of Computer Science at the University of Southampton.
The new site, and the company’s first outside London, is a newly renovated building that stands on the site of a former warehouse that played a key role during D-Day in World War 2.
Earlier this year, Starling announced they would be growing their presence outside of London and chose Southampton to create 150 new jobs in engineering, customer services and operations. Starling chose Southampton because of the city’s growing reputation as a burgeoning tech hub, supported by the University of Southampton and Solent University.
Anne Boden, Chief Executive of Starling Bank, said: “As our first office outside of London, Southampton has become a major chapter in the Starling story.
“This city has so much to offer, including its growing and skilled jobs market, and we are looking forward to capitalising on its wealth of talent to fill this beautiful new space.”
