Nelson Gate currently comprises three multi-storey office blocks, Grenville House, Norwich House and Frobisher House. Despite much effort, the latter two buildings have remained largely vacant for an extensive period of time. Their redevelopment will bring new residents, business and visitors to the city centre, whilst also creating a wealth of new jobs for local people.

The proposed development will include a new multi-storey building accommodating residential apartments and a hotel, whilst Norwich and Frobisher Houses will be comprehensively refurbished and re-clad to provide a range of apartments, retail units, restaurants and office accommodation.

The scheme will also transform the public realm, with a new public square facing the train station and spacious pedestrian route providing direct access between Southampton Central and Fourposts Hill – all of which will be set within an extensive scheme of landscaping.
