Proposed Development of South Point, Ensign Park, Hamble
A C English Developments Limited have appointed Palmer Fry and Neilson Holt as joint agents to market Building 36 Mitchell Point and the new proposed development of South Point Ensign Business Park Hamble. Unit 36 provides a self-contained detached office R&D; building extending to 3,615 sq ft (335.84 sq m) providing open plan accommodation benefiting with exceptional parking provisions of 22 spaces. The building has been fully refurbished to provide carpets, suspended ceiling with recessed lighting and gas fired heating.
South Point will follow the successful developments of Mitchell Point and Compass Point which forms part of Ensign Business Park and has now established itself as an industrial and office location for a variety of users, including office research and development, hi and mid tech companies.
Companies located to the Park include Fibre Optic companies Point Source and Insensys. Accord Espirit Electronics and a number of other occupiers including Quantum Research, Symtec Software and Michael K Howard Advertising have also located to the Park.
The Royal Yacht Association has also relocated their office HQ to Compass Point, and another major occupier on Ensign Business Park is Coopervision, manufacturers of contact lenses who have a number of facilities on the Park including a new 67,000 sq ft (6,224.44 sq m) purpose built facility which is currently under construction.
Encouraged by the level of interest for the Mitchell Point development, A C English Developments Limited propose to develop South Point, the remaining site available on the Park. The Business Park will provide a mix of high quality office and B1 business units totalling nine self-contained buildings, ranging from 2,777 sq ft (258 sq m) with the total development providing 31,429 sq ft (2,920 sq m). Palmer Fry and Neilson Holt have been appointed as letting agents for the scheme. Commencement of construction is likely to be early in 2005.
David Heda, Director for Industrial Agency, confirmed that at this stage it was possible to enter into discussions with occupiers with specific requirements in mind to provide them a design and build opportunity.
