1.5 million new industrial development now available on flexible terms

Humberts Commercial in Southampton is celebrating the completion of a 1.5 million development at Hounsdown Business Park.

The chartered surveyors brokered the deal, named Newmans, which involved the building of five new 5,000 and 10,000 sq ft industrial/warehouse units a total of over 30,000 sq ft and the project was delivered on time and in budget by Trant Construction with Gleeds acting as clients agents.

The business park is already home to companies including Russ Berrie, Cable & Wireless, McNicholas Construction and Dixons/Mastercare, and the new development will undoubtedly bring further top quality tenants.

Ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 sq ft, the Newmans industrial/warehouse units offer clear workspace coupled with well-equipped first floor offices, plus a total of 60 car parking spaces. Designed by Owen Davies Architects the buildings have already received many compliments for combining style with versatility.

They are now available to lease through Humberts at an extremely competitive rent of 6 per sq ft and Senior Associate Andrew Archibald is anticipating that they will be extremely popular.

Andrew said: "The Newmans units are available at an extremely good price and on the kind of flexible terms associated with the Code of Practice for Commercial Leases. These factors, together with the parks excellent proximity to Southamptons motorways, airport and docks, means we are expecting them to be let quickly".

Another new development is also set to get underway at Hounsdown early in the New Year. An additional 0.5 acre plot of development land has been sold through Humberts on behalf of the Barker Mill Trust and the developer plans to build eight light industrial units of around 1,000 sq ft each.

These units will be built to the same high standard as the existing buildings on the park and will be offered for sale once they are complete. Further details are available from Humberts.
