Coming home to Hounsdown
Hounsdown Business Park
Tottons Hounsdown Business Park has a new occupant, with the letting by Humberts Commercial of the remaining offices at Hounsdown House.
The thriving business park, which is already home to Russ Berrie, Cable & Wireless, Dixons/Mastercare and McNicholas Construction, now counts award winning civil engineering firm Gifford amongst its tenants.
The firm, which has experienced an organic growth spurt of some 20% in the last twelve months alone, has taken the ground floor of Hounsdown House to accommodate the expansion and house its building structures and a building services team.
Hounsdown House already has connections for Gifford - it was built from one of its structural designs and they have taken approximately 6,800 sq ft on a 10 year fully insuring and repairing lease at a rental of 99,500 per annum. Winner of the Queens Award for Enterprise in 2002, Gifford was founded in Southampton in 1951 and has its headquarters nearby at Netley Marsh.
We have had an extremely successful twelve months and needed to find good quality offices close to our Netley Marsh headquarters in which to house our expanding team, explains Giffords partner David Dibb-Fuller.
About 60 members of the team are now well housed at Hounsdown House and are working on a number of ongoing contracts, including the Flagship Training Project to design new Naval training facilities at establishments across the country.
Andrew Archibald, Senior Associate with Humberts Southampton office said: We are delighted to have let this space to one of the regions leading firms. At the heart of the parks success is the quality of the buildings coupled with its location and good motorway access. The quality of occupiers we have attracted to the Business Park speaks volumes.
