New South Coast studios for Meridian TV
Meridian TV, now part of ITV, is building a new Digital Television Centre in leased offices at the Solent Business Park, Whiteley.
Meridian have taken 18,375 sq ft with 92 car spaces in Forum One, a landmark building at the entrance to The Forum, which forms part of the Solent Business Park.
Lindsay Charlton, Managing Director of Meridian Broadcasting said; � This move represents a �6 million reinvestment in our local programming. We will be designing a new working culture at Forum One which we hope will be a template for other regional licences within the newly merged ITV. The technology and methods of television production have been revolutionised by digital systems and Meridian will be taking this opportunity to benefit from these changes.�
The production centre at Forum One will include three new studios, three galleries, edit suites, dressing rooms and specific technical areas. Journalists and producers will operate digital desk top editing provided by broadcast supplier Avid which uses server based technology.

Neilson Holt and Hughes Ellard represented the landlords Amey plc in the transaction. Meridian were represented by London agents, Leaver Charles Granger.
