Plan for Prosperity

The Plan for Prosperity sets out the vision for the development of a dynamic local economy that brings opportunities and benefits to the people who live, work and do business in Southampton. The Plan has been prepared following extensive consultation with key business organisations and companies based in Southampton and its region.

Challenging targets, particularly in relation to improving the skills of the workforce, strengthening the contribution that knowledge and creative industries make to the city�s economy, increasing business start up and growth, bringing land forward for employment use, and creating a strong and positive identity for the city have been set.

Southampton has great assets and even further potential as a centre for enterprise and business. Through the Plan for Prosperity the City Council is determined to play its part in promoting sustainable prosperity for all our citizens.
