Land Availability- Between 1997 and 2001, a total of 101.18 ha of land in the Southampton area was developed for industrial and warehousing uses - Southampton formed 15.93 ha of this total.
- Between 1988 and 2002 almost 161,300 sq m of new office space was completed in Southampton, almost exclusively in the city centre and at the waterfront.
- The City of Southampton Local Plan seeks to concentrate office activity into three locations in the city centre.
- The City Council is bringing forward land for industrial and warehousing development through the local plan process. Major proposals include Test Lane (6 ha), The Vosper Thornycroft shipyard (up to 12 ha) and Drivers Wharf (up to 6 ha.
