Southampton Oceanography Centre

The Southampton Oceanography Centre is one of the world's leading centres of excellence dedicated to research and education in martime and earth sciences, for the development of maritime technology and for the provision of large scale infrastructure and support for the marine research community.

The Centre undertakes commissioned research, consultancy and collaborative projects for industry, government departments and agencies worldwide and has a strong record of transfering technologies for wider use.

Southampton Oceanography Centre is a joint venture between the University of Southampton and the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC). The purpose-built centre houses around 450 research, lecturing and support staff, as well as over 600 undergraduates and postgraduate students.
