The Southampton area is home to a number of specialist and research centres

• Merck Research - specialise in chemical and laboratory supplies, researching and investigating new functional materials such as liquid crystals and advanced in organic materials for applications such as superconductors and pigments



• QinetiQ - offers smart solutions to meet business needs and has a portfolio of technologies available in areas such as defence, health, public sector, space, energy, information communication and eletronics, security and transport.
