Location of Royal Pier Development

The plan for Southampton�s Waterfront proposes a mixture of residential, commercial and leisure uses, to create an area of distinction and international identity.

Royal Pier & Town Quay

19 ha of land at Royal Pier will be reclaimed to provide more public open space for events such as the Boat Show. It will include a public square, new marina, piers, a bridge and panoramic views of Southampton Water, with access off a promenade for a range of bars and restaurants to create a vibrant evening economy. There will also be hotels, offices and convenience retail for the residents of the area and upgraded public transport facilities and communication links.


Proposed re-development of Royal Pier

Ocean Village & Canutes Pavilion

Development is already underway to create an impressive backdrop to the Volvo Round the World Race. This will include 500 apartments, including key worker provision, cafes and restaurants and convenience retailing.
